The Ministry of Health published the list of 160 medicines whose prices will be by about 40% lower from October 12. The given drugs include the most necessary and frequently used pharmaceutical products such as citramon, mucaltin, active carbon, corvalol, paracetamol, and valerian, IPN reports.
The cheapest drugs of those announced by the Ministry of Health cost at most 6 lei per 10 pills, while the most expensive ones cost between 40 and 60 lei.
The drugs will be sold in about 650 drugstores all over the country. The complete list of cheapened pharmaceutical products is available on the Ministry’s website.
The decision to reduce the prices of 160 names of drugs was taken as a result of last week’s negotiations between the Government and large drugstore chains. Instead, the Government provided a series of concessions to the pharmaceutical companies for these to work more efficiently on the Moldovan market.
