Charities in Chisinau on Volunteer Week

Volunteer activities aimed at promoting social responsibility among citizens and notifying the public opinion on the volunteers’ contribution in developing society will take place from 14 to 20 April in Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Presidential press service. Volunteer NGOs will also organize charity actions, as the event “Easter for everybody” consisting of distributing foodstuffs to poor people. Or like an action called “A Light Beam” consisting in distributing food to 210 elderly from rest homes. The volunteers plan also to visit children with cancer at the Oncologic Hospital in Chisinau and at the Rehabilitation Center to arrange visits to the zoo for them. Starting 2007, the National Volunteer Week is traditionally organized in April by the Coalition on promoting the Volunteer Law and Volunteer Activities. Last year, 45 volunteers realized 29 activities in four Moldovan localities, encompassing 9,600 people.
