Three persons, among who a former employee of the Ministry of the Interior, were arrested by the police on suspicion that they organized the illegal migration of Moldovan citizens to Israel. According to the police, over 600 persons were transported this way by collecting charges of US$ 7,000 to US$ 13,000 from them, IPN reports.
According to the General Police Inspectorate, the group that consisted of persons with a criminal past, including an ex-employee of the Ministry of the Interior, has been followed for nine months. It was established that the three suspects worked under the protection of a business entity based in the municipality of Chisinau. This was authorized to provide mediation and job placement services for Moldovans.
The group members recruited socially derived persons and transported them to Israel to work. Contrary to the legislation and the held license, these charged very large sums of money for their services. To hide the committed illegalities, they forced the victims to sign fictitious lending agreements.
If they are found guilty, the suspects will serve up to three years in jail. The General Police Inspectorate said the collected evidence fully proves the illegal activity of the group.
