The Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office said the charges against four more shareholders of Unibank in the banking fraud case were dropped. Among these are MPs Marina Tauber and Reghina Apostolova. About a month ago, six more shareholders of this bank, including former President Petru Lucinschi, had the charges against them dropped, IPN reports.

A year ago, the acting prosecutor general requested Parliament to lift the immunity of the two MPs, the two being detained. Later, the ten shareholders of Unibank were charged with considerable swindle and laundering of money in the interests of an organized criminal group.

After thoroughly examining the available evidence, the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office reached the conclusion that the deeds of the given persons didn’t contain elements of an offense.
