Judge Victor Micu was elected chairman of the Supreme Council of Magistrates by the votes of nine of the eleven members of the Council on June 17, IPN reports.
The Ministry of Justice said the second candidate for the post Dumitru Visterniceanu, who held the post on an interim basis until now, garnered only two votes.
Victor Micu earlier held the post of president of the Rascani District Court. He was elected member of the Supreme Council of Magistrates in the General Assembly of Judges of January 17.
