The chairman of the Elderly Council of Comrat municipality, Ivan Stomatov, died Friday in the precincts of the Comrat Town Hall, following a heart stroke. Ana Harlamenko has told Info-Prim Neo the chairman of the Elderly Council came for the meeting to help the MPs with advice. Yet, the Communist MPs did not accept his advice. Even more, they shouted at him, offended him and chased him from the hall. Harlamenko believes namely this is why the heart of the old man yielded. Ivan Stomatov was 72 . Asked by -Prim Neo, the Communist Demian Karaseni confirmed the information about the disagreement of sides. He insists the elections of 12 June were correct and he is the president of the People's Assembly. Karaseni says he sued the election of Ana Harlamenko on July 4, as he did earlier with the election of Ravnopravie's would-be chairman , Serghei Cernev. Yet he says he's willing to negotiate with his opponents. For the Gagauzia's People's Assembly, 21 independents, 10 Communists and by two MPs from the Democratic Party and Ravnopravie were elected. Ana Harlamenko has told Info-Prim Neo that on 11 July, one of Communists, priest Serghei Lazarev gave up his mandate invoking being incompatible as a confessor and politician. Harlamenko says the protests planned for Saturday by Serghei Cernev's supporters were postponed because of harvesting.
