The state-owned enterprise “Moldova’s Railways” (CFM) will receive 250 tonnes of diesel from the state reserves in order to swiftly deal with emergency situations. The decision was taken by order of Prime Minister Dorin Recean and the fuel is to be delivered by the Material Reserves Agency, IPN reports.

The Agency’s director Marin Lisy told TRM channel that the documents necessary for the transfer are already in place and the CFM is to receive the fuel.

According to the head of the Material Reserves Agency, the diesel fuel is provided from the state reserves, without conditions of return, loan or sale.

The Government announced that it aims to revitalize the CFM through investments in infrastructure. In this regard, the authorities are considering the possibility of allocating 400 million lei annually, over five years, for the modernization of the railway transport network. The multi-year financial contract is to be signed between the Ministry of Infrastructure and “Moldova’s Railway” as a result of public consultations.
