The thermoelectric plant CET-2 sequestrated the accounts of the heat supplier Termocom by a court decision over the 136 million lei debt accumulated during the 2007-2008 heating season. All the payments for heat made by the Chisinau residents and economic entities are now managed by CET-2, Info-Prim Neo reports. Thus, the heat supply could be disrupted or even stopped. According to the commercial director of Termocom Mihai Arusoi, at a meeting held at the Ministry of the Economy last week, they agreed with Chisinau-Gaz to reschedule the debt to this creditor, but now that the heat supplier's accounts have been sequestrated, it is impossible to transfer money to Chisinau-Gaz and this can lead to the diminution of the pressure in gas pipelines or even to the disconnection of some of the plants. At Monday's meeting of the Chisinau City Hall, Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca said the steps taken by CET-2 and Chisinau-Gaz are beyond criticism. “Given that the residents of Chisinau have the right to settle the heating bills during a year and the payment levels are over 100%, the monopolists' actions are inadmissible,” he said. ”I think we should review the contacts with the two economic entities and set real payment terms.” Chirtoaca also said that Termocom and the two CETs must be merged into a holding company in order to avoid the artificial rise in heating charges. The National Agency for Energy Regulation is examining the current charges and will take a decision in the near future. The mayor voiced hope that the current charge of 542 lei paid by the Chisinau resents to Termocom will not be increased. Termocom SA now works according to the ordinary regime. The accident that happened on Maria Dragan Street in Chisinau's Ciocana district was removed in two hours.
