The Hungarian company MET Gas and Energy Marketing AG will be able to deliver gas to the Transnistrian region starting February 13.
For February 11 and 12, the Commission for Emergency Situations (CES) decided that Moldovagaz will be able to sell 2 million cubic meters of gas to Tiraspoltransgaz and lend another 3 million cubic meters, which must be returned by March 31, Prime Minister Dorin Recean said after the Commission’s meeting, IPN reports.
"It goes to the delivery 3 million cubic meters of gas per day by a European trader, during a period of 16 days. If the supplies exceed this volume and large industries start to work, then the Government in Chisinau will tax the transactions," stated Premier Recean.
The supply to the Transnistrian region of gas purchased with European financial support for February 1-10 ended, and Tiraspol did not accept the conditions imposed for obtaining the additional support of €60 million offered by the EU.
The Hungarian company MET Gas and Energy Marketing AG, paid by JNX General Trading L.L.C. based in Dubai, will bring gas to the border with the Republic of Moldova, based on the contract signed with Moldovagaz. Tiraspol will pay in advance the transit costs for the gas transported from the border with the Republic of Moldova to the region.
