CES approves measures to facilitate management of refugee crisis

The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection will be able to purchase services to ensure the functionality of Refugee Placement Centers by using a simplified public procurement procedure. Such a procedure will also be used to contract customs brokerage services for managing the storehouses with goods coming from humanitarian assistance and donations. Decisions to this effect were taken in the meeting of the Commission for Exceptional Situations (CES) that was chaired by Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița. The measures are aimed at ensuring the more efficient management of the refugee crisis, IPN reports.

Also, in order to ensure the efficient management of the received lots of humanitarian assistance, the Commission decided to reduce the period for reporting the distribution of aid. In accordance with the changes, the report on the distribution of aid intended for refugees will be presented within 15 workdays, not 60 days as until present.

The CES also decided to additionally allocate 322,200 lei from the Government’s intervention fund to the Ministry of Education and Research for covering costs associated with the functioning of the Refugee Placement Centers managed by this.

The Commission approved the framework concerning the operational activities of the European Border and Coast Guard Agency in the Republic of Moldova. This way, it is allowed taking goods intended for the Agency’s activities into or out of Moldova without subjecting these to bans and restrictions.
