Cereale-Flor manager Ion Cretu promised that the company's employees will be paid the wage arrears for 3 months by the end of August. The owed sum rises to about 700,000 lei, IPN learned from a press release of the National Conferation of Unions.
Grigore Bumbac, head of the cross-branch council of unions in Floresti district, accused the company of not respecting the workers' basic rights to decent labor. There are numerous problems regarding work safety and health. Moreover, the company failed to pay the Union Committee due union membership fees of 75,000 lei.
Cretu said that salary arrears are the results of some transfer issues that will be solved in the nearest future.
In June, Cereale-Flor came under scrutiny by the agents of the National Investigation Inspectorate, who initiated an investigation on large-scale embezzlement charges.
Currently, the factory has 80 employees.
