The Central Market of Chisinau and all the trading areas situated at 63 Mitropolit Varlam St will remain closed for the duration of the state of emergency that will last until May 15. The period during which the market will remain closed could be yet extended, as it is provided in an order signed by Mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban, IPN reports.
The mayor said the decision forms part of the measures taken to prevent and diminish the spread of the novel coronavirus at the markets in Chisinau.
The previous order stipulated that the Central Market will not work between March 16 and April 1.
The state of emergency declared in Moldova covers the period between March 17 and May 15.
