The pensioners Wednesday blocked the movement of vehicles on Stephan the Great Boulevard again. They said they will continue doing so the next days as well, until the local councilors annul the new bus and trolleybus fares, Info-Prim Neo reports.
About 2,000 persons are participating in the protests. Unlike yesterday, the number of those who consider that the rise in fares in justified is now larger. But they do not have access to the protesters' microphone, but try to discuss with them.
The two camps discuss the ratio of salaries and pensions to prices of products and services, the necessity of repairing the roofs of apartment buildings and introducing new transport routes in Chisinau and other issues. While some of the groups discuss calmly, others debate heatedly, crying and cursing.
“Our stomachs are smaller than theirs”, “They raised the tariffs in order to increase their salaries”, “They are traitors”, “We want season tickets, not compensations of 70 lei,” the pensioners shout in front of the City Hall.
The Chisinau Municipal Council is to hold a meeting and approve the regulations on the payment of individual compensations.
