The National Bank of Moldova put new commemorative and jubilee coins into circulation as legal tender and for numismatic proposes on December 28, 2019, IPN reports.

The series “”Alley of Classics of the Public Garden “Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt” of Chisinau municipality” is supplemented with the silver and gold coin dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the death of prose writer, poet, translator and dramaturg Constantin Negruzzi. The gold coin has the face value of 100 lei and was issued in a number of 100 copies, while the silver one has the face value of 50 lei and was issued in 200 copies.

Another three silver coins with an issue of 250 pieces each form part of the series “Personalities”. These are dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of writer, poet, dramaturg and literary historian Ion Druță, the 150th anniversary of the birth of priest Mihail Berezovschi and the 100th anniversary of the birth of poet, prose writer, publicist and translator George Meniuc.

A silver coin dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Bessarabian plastic artist Adei Zevin supplements the series “Famous Women”.  The coin has the face value of 50 lei and was issued in 300 copies.

The series “Moldova’s Monasteries” is complemented with a coin dedicated to the Ciuflea Monastery of Chisinau, the collection “Lordly Mansions” with a silver coin that represents the Mansion of Zamfirache Ralli, while the series “Science and Innovation” with two new silver commemorative coins dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of doctor habilitate of economic sciences Ivan Mocann and to the 80th anniversary of the birth professor Mihai Marinciuc, who promoted and organized physics education.

Also, a silver coin showing the Danube Falco Cherrug with the face value of 50 lei and an issue of 300 pieces supplements the series “Red Book of the Republic of Moldova”.

The commemorative and jubilee coins packed in transparent methacrylate capsules and present boxes are accompanied by authenticity certificates in Romanian and English.
