On the day of the Moldovan leu celebrated on November 29, when it will be 30 years of its putting into circulation, the National Bank of Moldova will hold a excursion on the “Road of Money” for students. This is a financial education event that will start at the central bank to enable visitors to see how the money circulates, in what form and how it reaches the economy or the consumers, IPN reports.
The excursionists will be told about the history of the Moldovan leu and will be able to admire the collection of commemorative and jubilee coins issued by the National Bank of Moldova and monetary art items of other countries exhibited in the central bank’s museum.
The participants in the event will also be told about the security features of the Moldovan leu. The “Road of Money” will continue at one of the commercial banks, where important information will be provided and situations typical of the financial world will be stimulated.
Those who want to take part in the event need to register beforehand. Groups of up to 30 persons older than 12 will be constituted. The students will be accompanied by an adult who will ensure the security of minors during the excursion. Applications can be submitted by November 26, 2023 to edufin@bnm.md. Visits will be organized every hour on the hour, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
The financial education event “Road of Money” is at its fifth edition. It promotes financial culture among young citizens as a basis for personal welfare in the future, said the central bank.
