The central bank of the unrecognized republic of Transnistria is willing to provide 30 million Transnistrian rubbles (over 50 million lei) in the form of preferential loans to economic entities of Transnistria. The local press said the issue was discussed in a meeting of the so-called committee for the support of small and medium-sized enterprises, set up by the Transnistrian executive, IPN reports.
In the meeting, it was said that in the developed states, during economic crises, financial resources are poured into the economic sector to support the SMEs. But the region has a budget deficit of over 1.2 billion rubles and thus cannot provide subsidies to the economic entities.
In such conditions, the central bank can offer cheap loans to economic entities, but under the guarantee of the Transnistrian administration. It is projected that these loans will not depend on the exchange rate.
