Central authorities such as ministries and other Government agencies are invited to present their proposals for the 2018 Budget Bill and make estimations for 2019-2020, IPN learned from a circular issued by the Ministry of Finance.
The circular quotes Minister Octavian Armașu as saying that the Ministry aims to meet the deadlines of the budget calendar set out by the Public Finance Law and of other key documents.
The budget calendar requires the Government to approve the 2018 State Budget Bill no later than 1 November 2017, with Parliament to vote it into law by December 1.
The set of proposals on the fiscal and customs policy for 2018 was formulated and submitted for expert and stakeholder consultation in June. On July 27, the Government adopted the 2018-2020 Mid-Term Budget Framework, an instrument that is designed to offer stability, predictability and continuity to state-funded policies.
