Moldovan and Polish entrepreneurs who want to start businesses in Moldova or Poland can obtain more information about the conditions, legislation, markets of the two countries from a Moldovan-Polish development and entrepreneurship center that was set up with a grant of €30,000 provided by the Embassy of Poland, IPN reports.

One of the main goals of the center is to support the cooperation relations between Moldovan and Polish firms and to develop, implement, monitor and assess local and national development projects. The center offers assistance to young entrepreneurs and startups. Its employees also stage cultural events that promote the Police language, culture, history and traditions.

The center does not yet have a building, but this is to be erected by next February and information can be now obtained over the phone.

In an event organized by the Embassy of Poland, which involved Moldovan and Polish entrepreneurs, Poland’s Ambassador in Chisinau Bartłomiej Zdaniuk said Poland supports the Moldovan-Polish contacts, especially because the formation of these cooperation relations is facilitated by the Deep and Comprehensives Free Trade Area. Poland, for example, is the leading importer of Moldovan wine.

The ambassador encouraged the partners from Poland and Moldova to extend the relations, eventually to invest in the purchase of Polish technologies that are of a high quality and cost less than in Western Europe. He also encouraged joint projects in alternative energy, innovations, etc.

According to official data presented by the Public Services Agency, there are about 100 enterprises with Polish capital in Moldova. The National Bank of Moldova said the direct Polish investment in the national economy at the end of 2017 came to US$ 16.97 million, placing the country 22nd among the foreign investors.
