CEC to approve new report form on campaign financing

A new form of the report on the financing of electoral campaigns will be approved by the end of November. The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) prepared the document and started public debates with the representatives of political parties, Info-Prim Neo reports. The accountants of several parties participated on November 16 in the debates organized by CEC. They inquired about the new form of the report and had some suggestions for its improvement. CEC head Iurie Ciocan is happy with the reaction of the political parties’ representatives and said that their questions suggested some necessary changes. “We managed to obtain some very useful proposals. Based on them, we’ll adjust and finalize the report form”. He added that the draft was sent to all political parties, which have 10 days to propose any amendments. “I think that by the end of his month, the new report form will be ready and we’ll put it forward for approval at the CEC meeting”. The CEC members said that the new report model was needed because political parties didn’t present all the information about their financing. The new model includes all the donations, incomes and other financing, as well as expenses. Recommendations, opinions and proposals related to the draft submitted for public discussions can be presented until November 26 at the Central Electoral Commission office.
