Political parties and electoral blocs nominating candidates for the snap local elections on November 21 can transfer their own funds to a specially designated account named “electoral fund” as soon as the electoral campaign starts, clarified the Central Election Commission.

The law requires parties and blocs to also submit at the start of the electoral campaign a financial report, using a form established by CEC, before they can transfer or use their own funds for electoral purposes.

For each mayoral candidate, the electoral campaign begins with his or her formal registration by the electoral council of the respective constituency. The electoral contestant must fill in an annex to the report, which will reflect campaign expenses in constituencies, and at the section “destination of the payment” he or she must also indicate the locality for which the payment was made.

Snap local elections will be held on November 21 in fifteen towns and villages of Moldova, including Bălți municipality.
