Starting with this year, only persons who attended training courses at the Continuous Electoral Training Center of the Central Election Commission can become members of electoral offices. Twenty-five trainers will be instructed for five days and will then organize seminars for 20,000 potential members of electoral offices of polling place, IPN reports.
During the launch of the training program, Continuous Electoral Training Center head Natalia Iuras said the goal is to lay the foundations of a regional network of trainers who will train electoral functionaries. Each of the trainers will instruct about 900 representatives of local public authorities responsible for the verification and updating of the electoral rolls.
Natalia Iuras also said that the organization and holding of elections depends greatly on the professional training level of the persons involved in the electoral process. “We aim to extend the number of persons with professional experience in the electoral field and to contribute to the better organization of the electoral process,” she stated.
The next parliamentary elections will take place at the end of 2014.
