CEC initiates MP confirmation procedure

The Central Election Commission (CEC) on Tuesday, February 19, initiated the procedure to confirm Oleg Turea, un-elected candidate on the list of the Communist Party, as Member of the Moldovan Parliament, Info-Prim Neo reports. A seat in Parliament fell vacant on February 15 after Communist Victor Stepaniuc resigned in exchange for the office of Deputy Prime Minister, to which he was appointed on February 16. Oleg Turea is the 72nd on the electoral list of the Communist Party. Turea, a school teacher by profession and former mayor of Rascani town, is now unemployed. Next on the list is Ala Mironic, ex-deputy mayor of Chisinau and former rector of the President’s Public Administration Academy.
