The Central Election Commission had declared the presidential elections valid. In a press briefing at 4pm, it was announced that over 1.1 million people or more than 39% of the voters cast their ballots by this hour, IPN reports.
Pocrovca village of Donduseni district remains the community with the highest voter turnout, of over 71%. The turnout in Caracusenii Vechi village of Briceni district is the lowest, of only over 12%.
In the municipality of Chisinau, the most active are the voters in Rascani district – over 42%. In Botanica, Centru and Buiucani districts, the voter turnout was of over 41%, while in Ciocana district – about 40%.
Speaking about the voters from Transnistria, CEC member Vladimir Sarban said those who intended to vote did it and can yet do it. At the 30 polling stations established on the right bank of the Nistru River for the purpose, including five in Chisinau municipality, over 3,500 Transnistrians voted by 4pm.
Over 2,400 people from Transnistria voted at the polling place in Varnita, Anenii Noi. This is the highest number of voters so far. The CEC and the Joint Control Commission haven’t been informed about extraordinary situations.
