The Central Election Commission (CEC) set the first meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) for July 28, 10am, IPN reports.
Contacted by IPN, CMC secretary Valeriu Didencu said that the local councilors in the first meeting are to take cognizance of the court decision concerning the validation of their seats. There will be announced the formed factions and presented their heads.
The first meeting will be chaired by the eldest councilor. This is Oazu Nantoi, of the Electoral Bloc “European People’s Platform of Moldova – Iurie Leanca”. Afterward, the chair of the CMC meetings will be named by rotation.
In the June 14 local elections, the Party of Socialists won 19 seats in the CMC, the Liberal Party – 17, the Electoral Bloc “European People’s Platform of Moldova – Iurie Leanca” – 6, the Our Party – 3, the Party of Communities – 3, the Liberal Democratic Party – 2, while the Democratic Party – 1 seat.
