For the actions to field candidates for the office of President to be with an electoral, not only informative impact, the parties should take a number of steps in the timeframes set by the electoral legislation, president of the Central Election Commission Dorin Cimil stated for IPN.

According to the functionary, the findings of Promo-LEX Association, which said that four parties carried out activities that can be described as designation of candidates for President before the set time, can be real. But to have an electoral effect, the parties should come with such presentations in the period when the law allows doing this, following a number of steps. “I refer to the period when the initiative group is to be formed. I refer to the period when the necessary number of signatures in support of a candidate needs to be collected and to the validation of these signatures by the CEC,” explained Dorin Cimil.

Under the procedures stipulated by law, it goes to candidates proposed for President. For information purposes, the parties can announce the intention to delegate a candidate in the presidential elections. But the electoral effect will be produced only when the given steps are taken. The procedure will start after September 1.

Each electoral candidate can campaign only after they are registered by the CEC.
