The Central Election Committee (CEC) on Tuesday, July 31, has awarded mandates to three Chisinau city councilmen, filling in the vacancies announced last week. CEC granted councillor’s mandates to Vasile Toderascu on the list of the Liberal Party, who replaced Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca; to Oazu Nantoi on the list of the Democrat Party, who replaced MP Vladimir Filat; and to Alexandru Robu, on the councillors’ list of the Moldova Noastra Alliance Party, in place of Ana Iurascu who gave up her mandate to continue working as deputy district head of Botanica, a position incompatible with the councillor’s office. Also on Tuesday, CEC ordered repeat runoff elections for mayor in the village of Bugeac, Gagauzia.
