The Association “Child. Community. Family” (CCF Moldova) is celebrating 10 years of activity.  The Association’s head Liliana Rotaru said that in the 10 years CCF Moldova supported over 1,400 children and their families, reintegrated hundreds of children into their families, developed family-type services and trained specialists in child protection and education, IPN reports.

“The 10 years passed both easily and hard. We faced mainly the same social problems,” said Liliana Rotaru. According to her, it’s now easier to work as they have more experience. There were carried out assessments in different social and education fields. Over the last 5-6 years, the central and local authorities started to implement reforms in the area of child protection and in the education system.

However, there is yet a lot to be done, especially in the migration area, stated Liliana Rotaru. If this phenomenon had been projected, the solutions would have been more visible than now. Another area that needs attention is the contracting of NGOs. The NGOs are more active and bring more innovations in different areas. A mentality change is also needed. “If we do not invest, we will be unable to ask something from the children. The people with economic thinking should realize that the social projects are long-term investments for the benefit of the people and society,” stated the head of CCF Moldova.

CCF Moldova is a nongovernmental organization that aims to offer the children the possibility of growing up in a safe and protected family environment. Valentina Nafornita supports the cause of the socially deprived children in Moldova and became the patron of CCF Moldova in 2012. The organization is the official representative of the British foundation Hope and Homes for Children.
