C.C.C.E.C. will release results of survey on attitude toward corruption

The Centre for the Struggle Against Economic Crimes and Corruption (CCCEC) in cooperation with the Council of Europe will unveil the results of a survey on attitude toward corruption, attitude of citizens toward activity of CCCEC and other institutions participating in the struggle against corruption on Monday, March 20.
According to a press release of CCCEC, the survey was conducted by independent marketing company IMAS Inc and it is the first major sociological research on corruption conducted on a sample of more than 3,000 persons from the entire country.
CCCEC said that IMAS executive director Doru Petruti will report on methodology of the survey, corruption spread rate, portrait of those who regard the corruption as a problem. Also, he will present estimates of corruption incidence, attitude of population toward corruption, acceptability and susceptibility in principle of this anti-social phenomenon, information about corrupt practices and expectations related to corruption.
The centre noted that the independent research centre Vitosha-Research from Bulgaria has studied the results of the survey at the Council of Europe’s request and they were compiled into an analytical report that will be disseminated at the news conference.
The conduct of the survey was supported by the PACO Moldova programme for support for implementation of the national strategy on prevention and combat of corruption in Moldova.
