CCCEC has discovered 204 corruption cases in nine months

The Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime (CCCEC) over the first nine months of this year has identified 703 offences, including 204 corruption-related cases, 316 economic offences and 183 other types of crimes, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the CCCEC director Sergiu Puscuta, the non-pecuniary damage caused was valued at 37.9 million lei. Out of this sum, 20 million lei has been recovered through court.
There were sequestrated financial resources and goods worth 12.04 million lei, which is 85% of the total size of the damage caused.
There were opened 55 legal cases against offenders caught red-handed and detained 37 persons. Twenty-six persons of these were taken into custody.
