The Constitutional Court hasn’t set a date when to examine the President’s request to ascertain the circumstances that justify the dissolution of Parliament. Initially, the Court must see if this application is admissible, especially if it is connected with one or more articles of the Constitution.

In a response to IPN, the CC said that if the requisition is accepted, it will set a public meeting to discuss it. Under Article 32 of the Law on the Constitutional Court, the CC must deal with applications within six months of the receipt of the materials.

The meeting where to consider the admissibility or inadmissibility of the application will be arranged within a reasonable timeframe and the public will be informed about this through the Constitutional Court’s website.

On March 29, President Maia Sandu requested the Constitutional Court to ascertain the circumstances that justify the dissolution of Parliament. It happened after she held consultations with the parliamentary groups on March 26 and 29.
