Cause of suicide of peacekeeping forces soldier not yet established

The soldier shot himself in the morning of November 28. The Ministry of Defense and the Military Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation to establish the cause of the tragedy, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to Iurie Dominic, the preliminary results showed that Ion Rusnac shot himself from a machine gun in the region of the heart. He was rushed to the Central Military Hospital in Chisinau, but soon went into a coma and could not be saved. The colonel said the investigation will last as long as required. “We should not hurry giving answers. We are waiting for the autopsy report.” The costs of the funeral will be covered by the National Army. Soldier Ion Rusnac was born in 1991 in Drochia district. He was doing his military service. When he shot himself he was alone on duty. No case of suicide has been reported in the National Army so far.
