Catalin Carp’s team Viitorul Constanta continues to cause surprises in League I. The team trained by Gheorghe Hagi came on top of the rankings after it beat Concordia Chiajna away 2-1, IPN reports.
The goals were scored by Benzar (12th minute) and Purece (70th). Catalin Carp, who played 13 matches for Viitorul this season, entered the field on the 72nd minute. The Moldovan international also played for Dinamo-2 Kiev, CFR Cluj and Steaua Bucuresti. He scored a goal for the national team of Moldova in a match against the national squad of Romania.
Six stages before the end of the regular season of League I, Viitorul ranks first with 39 points, being much ahead of Gaz Metan Medias and Steaua. The other positions that lead to playoffs are taken by Nicolae Calancea’s team CS U Craiova (36 points), Dinamo (32) and CFR Cluj (30).
