Four persons of those arrested as a result of searches performed by officers of the National Anticorruption Center at the Chisinau City Hall on February 22 were remanded in custody, six were placed under house arrest, while another two are under judicial control, IPN reports.
The National Anticorruption Center announced then that 17 persons will be investigated as suspects. Two employees of the City Hall are suspected of passive corruption, while 15 persons, among whom functionaries of the local public administration, representatives of economic entities and private individuals, are suspected of active corruption.
The Center’s officers carried out searches within 35 criminal cases started over cases of corruption in the constructions sector of Chisinau, in particular over the hastening of the procedures for putting buildings into commission.
