The Employers Association of Road Transport Operators expresses its solidarity with the protests mounted by the National Farmers Federation of Moldova and its supporters. In solidarity with the farmers, a column of buses and minibuses will travel near the Parliament Building and will honk the horns starting at 11:30pm, IPN reports.
In a press release, the Association says that it shares the farmers’ view about the necessity of urgently adopting budgetary-fiscal measures so as to maintain the activities in the sectors of the economy and jobs and condemns the government’s cynical and deriding attitude to protesters’ demands.
The carriers urge the employers from other sectors, primarily the economic sectors that were seriously affected by the pandemic crisis, to join in the protest initiated by farmers. “To defend our business and maintain the jobs of our employees, we can only protest against the indifference and incompetence of the public servants whose salaries we pay,” stated the Association.
The farmers will mount a new protest in front of the Parliament Building on December 18, starting at 11am.
