Caretaker head appointed to Chisinau Trade Division

Marcel Zambitchi was appointed acting director of the Chisinau Trade and Services Division. He was introduced to the City Hall at its meeting on Monday. Zambitchi replaces Vladimir Nirca, who had served in this office for more than 20 years before reaching retirement age. “It's certain that trade, which accounts for more than a half of Chisinau municipality's economic activity, should be better organized. First, the markets in the center should be removed to make it less crowded. And there is also a host of many other issues to be addressed”, said Chisinau Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca. Prior to this appointment, Zambitchi, a doctor of economics, has been involved in business activities in addition to teaching at the Academy of Economic Studies. Zambitchi will act as a caretaker until a contest is held to select a director.
