The National Bank of Moldova (BNM) has launched the second edition of "Career Week," an event dedicated to recruitment and promoting opportunities for internships and employment. Under the motto "Grow Professionally with BNM", the institution provided students and young talents a platform to explore how they can contribute to the development of the national financial system as part of a professional and dynamic team, IPN reports.

Students who had already participated in internships shared their experiences, highlighting both the learning opportunities and the work environment at BNM.

A finance student at Paris Dauphine University, Boudon Noe from France, said that his internship at BNM allowed him to step away from the private sector and gain insights into financial institutions in Moldova.

"I applied for this internship because I wanted to explore beyond the private sector and better understand how financial institutions operate, particularly in Moldova, a region that interests me greatly. I encountered a rigorous working style and better collaboration than in France. I encourage everyone to apply for BNM internships; they will undoubtedly find opportunities suited to their interests", said Noe Boudon.

Katarina Sparling, a student at Duke University, studying Economics and Public Policy in the United States, interned in BNM's fintech department, contributing to the promotion of the instant payments system MIA.

"I chose to apply for fintech at BNM because the instant payments system they launched is an excellent example of innovation in banking. I learned many new things and was involved in promoting this program. Even if I don't pursue a direct career in the field, this experience will be valuable for my future. I learned a lot about banking sector innovations and was part of an extraordinary project. No matter what career path I choose, this experience will benefit me in the future," said Sparling.

Most internship participants at BNM are students from the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (ASEM).

Andrea Bejan, specializing in Finance and Banking at ASEM, chose to apply for an internship at BNM due to the institution's prestige and to better understand the banking supervision process.

"I learned a lot during this internship, and my recommendation is for students to apply confidently because there are people here who support you every step of the way. I chose this internship because BNM's activities align directly with the topic of my bachelor's thesis. The experience was particularly valuable due to the interaction with professionals in the field. I strongly encourage all students to apply, as the people here are ready to guide you", Andrea Bejan stated.

Anastasia Bobeico, a student at the Technical University of Moldova (UTM), specializing in Business Administration, described her internship at BNM as an invaluable experience.

"I had the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a talented and dedicated team. I gained a deep understanding of Moldova's banking system and how relevant statistical data is analyzed. I encourage students to prepare well and remain open to learning," said Anastasia Bobeico.

At the event's inauguration, BNM Governor Anca Dragu addressed the young attendees, stating:

"Professional growth is an integral part of our organizational culture at BNM. We continuously prepare ourselves because, in the banking field, staying up-to-date with new trends and international regulations is essential. We provide international training and certifications that are valued and rewarded. We are a team of professionals and seek ambitious young people to join us," said Anca Dragu.

BNM places significant emphasis on the professional development of its employees, offering opportunities for continuous training, international certifications, and a modern, flexible work environment. Cristina Petrov, BNM’s Human Resources Director, highlighted that the institution promotes an organizational culture based on meritocracy and diversity, offering young talents the opportunity to learn and contribute to the country's economic stability.

"BNM provides its employees with a competitive salary package, benefits, and professional development opportunities. The hiring process is conducted exclusively through open competitions. As an employer, we offer more than just a job - we offer extensive opportunities for professional growth. We have a modern work environment, flexible schedules, and a motivating salary package. Additionally, we place a strong focus on continuous training and international certifications", emphasized Cristina Petrov.

Between 2022 and 2023, BNM hosted internships for 53 students from various fields, including 26 from abroad. In 2024, the number of applicants for BNM internships increased to over 70 participants. For the first time, students from France and the United States joined, highlighting the global appeal of BNM's internship program.

To apply for an internship at BNM, students must submit a package of documents, including a CV, a motivation letter expressing their interest in working in a specific department, a minimum grade average of 8, and an identity card. Additional details about each of BNM’s 25 departments are available on the institution's official website on the Career page.

With a focus on innovation, professionalism, and continuous development, the National Bank of Moldova stands out as a true talent hub, attracting young professionals annually who wish to build careers in the financial sector. BNM remains a top choice for both domestic and international students eager to contribute to the country's economic stability and develop essential skills for their future careers.
