A lab technician of the Cardiology Institute who contracted the novel coronavirus passed away. Svetlana Ceaglei had worked at the Cardiology Institute for over 30 years, IPN reports.
“Condolences to the family of our mate Svetlana Ceaglei, who died at the age of 54 after developing complications as a result of infection with COVID-19,” says a message disseminated by the Cardiology Institute’s administration.
The number of healthcare workers who succumbed to COVID-19 rose to 68. On January 12, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection announced two more deaths among healthcare workers. Vitalie Ene worked as a dentist at the Chisinau placement center for older persons and persons with disabilities, while Vera Cenușă worked as a lab technician at the medical diagnostic center “Euromed”.
Over 150,000 infections with the novel coronavirus were recorded in Moldova by January 12. The death toll from COVID-19 now stands at 3,176.
