Cardiology Inst., Heart Surgery Center will merge

The Cardiology Institute will reorganize by absorbing the Heart Surgery Center, following a decision adopted by the Government on Wednesday, Info-Prim Neo reports. Health Minister Larisa Catrinici argued that a systemic approach to the process of diagnosing and treating cardiovascular diseases requires an integral structure. And as the provision of these highly skilled services is split between two institutions, the continuity of the treatment is affected and costs are unreasonably increased. The Heart Surgery Center operates within the National Clinical Hospital. In the near future, with World Bank support, a new operating room with modern equipment and technology will be established there. Altogether, this removes the need to construct a new building for the Center, explained the minister.
