Carabineers during several days have helped pedestrians to cross Dacia Blvd and a portion of Soseaua Muncesti St at crosswalks.

Contacted by IPN, press officer of the National Patrolling Inspectorate Natalia Golovko said those crosswalks are the most dangerous ones as a large number of road accidents occur on those street segments.

There was chosen the section of Soseaua Muncesti St that goes to Sangera town. This is not lit and pedestrians are exposed to a major risk when they cross the street when it is dark. The carbineers are also present on crosswalks along Dacia Blvd and on sections where pedestrians use to jaywalk.

It is not known for how long the carabineers will do this as they were mobilized for an indefinite period.

The National Patrolling Inspectorate recommends the pedestrians to make sure it is safe when they cross the street, even at crosswalks. When the weather is bad or it is dark, they should wear reflective elements so as to be visible. The children should not be allowed to cross the street by themselves as they cannot correctly assess the distance and speed.
