As from today, teams of carabineers will help the traffic police at rush hour, between 7am and 9am and between 4:30pm and 7pm. Mixed teams of carabineers and police officer will be present at the most problematic intersections in the municipality of Chisinau. They will streamline traffic and will ensure the pedestrians’ safety when crossing the street.
Alexandru Bejan, head of the General Carabineer Inspectorate’s Press Relations Service, has told IPN that a relevant request was made by the National Patrol Inspectorate.
“By 15-20 carabineers will daily assist the traffic police in their mission. If need be, the number of carabineers who will patrol the most crowded streets will be increased,” stated Alexandru Bejan.
