Capital rest zones are open

Public rest zones managed by Culture Parks Department of the capital will be open on 01 May or even a week before, if the weather allows this, Mihai Ciobanu, the head of the institution announced. According to Ciobanu, in the cold season there were repaired and tested all equipment in order to guarantee total security of thousands of children and grown-ups, who benefit of services of rest zones. At the moment, the only thing has left to be done is to paint them. Mihai Ciobanu was dissatisfied with the reduced diversity of rest objects in public areas, compared to private ones. He explained the situation through the management status of public areas. A park has a profit of about 30,000 lei, while a new device, made in Russia, costs about 190,000 lei. Neither the state, nor local authorities allot money for purchasing necessary equipment for children and especially for vulnerable families, who cannot spend too much on entertainment. Mihai Ciobanu noted that last year it was possible purchasing two carrousels and a better unit for parks of Rascani and Valea Trandafirilor. It is forseen for this year to purchase another carrousel. Eleven rest zones in Valea Trandafirilor, Rascani, Valea Morilor and Vatra sectors are managed by the above-mentioned department.
