Cannabis worth 6.3 million lei found in cornfield

Cannabis plants valued at 6.3 million lei were discovered in a cornfield in Cuselauca village, Soldanesti district, the Ministry of Interior reported. The find was made following a tip-off to the Anti-Drugs Division. The cannabis field stretched nearly 15 hectares and included an estimated 6,000 well-groomed plants. The landowner told the police the field was let to a peasant farm based in Orhei. Criminal proceedings were started in this case, with those responsible facing up to 6 years in prison.
