Cannabis and cigarettes seized at Leuseni-Albita customs post

Officers of the customs post discovered 115 grams of cannabis in the baggage of a passenger of a bus running regularly to Italy. The drugs were packed in polyethylene bags and hidden in three jars of jam and pickles. They were sent to a laboratory for examination, Info-Prim Neo has learned from the Customs Service. A criminal case was started against the passenger. In the same bus, the customs officers found about 700 undeclared packs of cigarettes of different brands in the unaccompanied baggage. The cigarettes to the value of about 12,000 lei had the excise stamps of Moldova on them. The Romanian customs authority ordered fining the driver of the bus over 19,000 lei and confiscating the cigarettes. There was opened a legal case that will be examined by the prosecutor’s office under the Husi Court.
