Candy factory jack crushed to death by sugar bags

A workman at Moldova's largest candy maker Bucuria died after he became trapped under several sugar sacks which fell from above on Monday around 11:00 AM, Info-Prim Neo reports. An ambulance was called immediately but there was nothing be done to save the man's life. He was 49 years old, married and with children, it was said. The factory refused to comment on the case, saying proper investigations should take their normal course. Vasile Deseatnicov, Chisinau's chief labor inspector, confirmed it was a labor accident, but offered no other details. The results of the investigations are due to be published in 30 days.
