The parliamentary majority, at the suggestion of the expert commission, refused to include Democratic MPs Andrian Candu and Vladimir Cebotari in the makeup of the commission of inquiry into the bank fraud, IPN reports.

The chairman of the legal commission for appointments and immunities Sergiu Litvinenko said the two candidates were rejected because of the situation of conflicts of interests. On November 13, 2014, the Government decided to provide emergency loans to the value of 9.5 billion lei and the relevant decision was signed by Andrian Candu, who served as minister of economy in the period.

“I’m shocked at your decision to work on this commission. You could form this commission for hundreds of times in 2016, when you came to power, but you never showed interest,” stated Sergiu Litvinenko.

The leader of the Democratic parliamentary group Pavel Filip asked not to teach them lessons of morality and proposed that Alexandru Jizdan and Grigore Repeshchuk should be accepted to the commission.

Sergiu Litvinenko said a new draft decision that will contain the new proposals is needed. This will be examined by the commission and if the persons are not in situations of conflicts of interests, they will be admitted to the commission of inquiry.
