The agricultural sector is badly in need of assistance and the authorities should offer this support, Head of Parliament Andrian Candu said in the talk show “Reply” on Prime TV channel. He reiterated the measures that can be taken and the commitment to promote a package of laws to offer more benefits and opportunities to famers, which he personally undertook, IPN reports.
The Speaker stated that the farmers witnessed only promises and discussions. “We always discussed the same subjects with them. Now we should probably assume a political commitment and overcome this state. I refer to the adoption not of one or two laws, but of a whole package,” he stated.
He referred also to the proposal to exclude the tax on profit that is reinvested, creation of conditions for providing preferential loans to farmers, the possibility of allowing farmers to import diesel fuel, identification of resources for increasing the agriculture subsidization fund and other measures. “We must adopt a large package of laws now, in July, not in a year or two,” said Andrian Candu, calling on the parliamentary groups to support this package as the MPs made promises that they must deliver.
“I think that by helping agriculture, we help the whole country and the economy,” said the official, noting that the politicians should put themselves in the place of the farmers and the ordinary people too. “That’s why I promised that I will devote one day to a farmer from morning till evening. If we descend and do some of the things we did earlier, before entering politics – apply for an identity card or a passport and queue up at different institutions - we will definitely change our mentality and will become more pragmatic in our approaches.”
