Candidates for presidency can apply by March 12

March 12 is the deadline for applying for the post of President of Moldova. The applications must be submitted to the special commission for the organization of elections, Info-Prim Neo reports. Liberal-Democratic MP Tudor Deliu was elected chairman of the commission, while Liberal lawmaker Valeriu Munteanu as secretary. “The commission will accept only the entire set of documents filed together. The commission’s work regulations and models of the necessary documents were published on the Parliament’s website. The candidates are asked to download the models of documents themselves,” said Tudor Deliu. The commission starts work on March 7. On March 9 and 10, it will work from 14.00 until 17.00, while on March 12 – from 08.00 until 17.00. “In accordance with the law on the election of the President, the commission accepts documents until it is three days before the elections. Monday is the deadline. Afterward, the commission will pronounce on the registration of the candidates,” said Tudor Deliu. A letter will be sent to the Minister of Health by the end of the day so that a medical commission is set up to examine the candidates or the old commission is confirmed.
