Candidates for minister and government program proposed by Ion Sturza

The candidate nominated for Prime Minister Ion Sturza transmitted the government program and the list of candidates for minister to Parliament. On January 4, the MPs will hold a special sitting to discuss the program and to put to the vote the decision on the investiture of the Sturza Cabinet, IPN reports.

The candidates for minister suggested by Ion Sturza are:
Ion Sturza – prime minister;
Victor Chirila – first deputy prime minister, minister of foreign affairs and European integration;
Ion Stavila – deputy prime minister for reintegration;
Dona Scola - deputy prime minister, minister of labor, social protection and family;
Ion Munteanu – minister of finance;
Marin Ciobanu - minister of economy;
Stanislav Pavlovschi - minister of justice;
Alexandru Stoianoglo - minister of the interior;
Viorel Cibotaru - minister of defense;
Svetlana Dogotaru - minister of regional development and construction;
Alexandru Slusari - minister of agriculture and food industry;
Oleg Tofilat - minister of transport and road infrastructure;
Andrei Ursache - minister of environment;
Loretta Handrabura - minister of education;
Veaceslav Reabcinschii - minister of culture;
Ala Nemerenco - minister of health;
Dumitru Alaiba - minister of youth and sport;
Alexandru Machedon - minister of information and communication technology.

The government program for 2016-2018 provides that intense work will be done to develop the business environment and to improve the investment climate. Effort will be made to promote innovations, research and technological development. The Sturza Government also aims to ensure transparency in and consolidate the financial-banking sector, to protect competition and eliminate monopoles from the national economy, to develop fiscal policies, efficient fiscal and customs administration, modern agriculture, balanced regional development, to ensure security and energy efficiency, etc.

The major goal of the programs is to ensure welfare, safety and the quality of the living conditions, especially by developing the economy and facilitating the creation of well-paid jobs, eradicating corruption and ensuring the rule of law, strengthening the capacity to defend the country, ensuring accessible and cost-efficient public services and the social protection of the vulnerable groups of people.
