The candidates for Chisinau mayoralty of the Party of Socialists (PSRM) and the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” (PPPDA) suggest providing dwellings to young education specialists and building new kindergartens to solve the problems faced in the education system, IPN reports.
PPPDA candidate Andrei Nastase said he aims to open new kindergartens and nursery groups in partnership with the business community. “It will be a friendly partnership. We will do so that those who build large shopping centers also take care to allot areas for students and preschool students,” he stated in electoral debates on ProTV Chisinau channel. He said he also intends to create an annual fund of over 45 million lei to support the teachers. “We will make education a priority,” noted the politician.
PSRM candidate Ion Ceban said that among the most serious problems in the education sector are the excessive bureaucratization of the system, low salaries, equipment and accessibility of school and preschool education institutions. Bonus payments for kindergarten employees should be kept, while the young education specialists should be offered allowances for paying rent or should be provided with homes.
The new mayoral elections in Chisinau municipality will take place on May 20, 2018.
