Candidates complain about lack of equal conditions

Two candidates running for the office of Chisinau municipal councillor claim the fact that not all the electoral competitors have equal conditions. Anatolii Soloviov and Iurie Timofte told a news conference on May 30 that although they are candidates and according to the Election Code they have the same rights as any other electoral competitors, including political parties, the media bodies are discriminating them. They said that they managed to participate in electoral debates only at two TV stations - Euro TV and DTV, while the representatives of several political parties had more possibilities in this respect. Moreover, the candidates said, several stations do not even invite the candidates who are running for councillors, although this office is not less important than the one of Mayor General. Soloviov and Timofte sent a complaint to the Central Election Commission, by means of which they solicit to eliminate these violations.
